A busy summer day |

As temperatures soar to 33 degrees, the local team remain committed to community safety, on operations, engagements and foot patrols. Today we have conducted a wide range of positive actions to ensure Littleover and Blagreaves is a safe place for all.
Operation Safe Drive; Mickleover: Moorway Lane Nuisance vehicles: From there we redployed due to several reports of nuisance vehicles, including off road dirt bikes and high performance cars driving at speed along Moorway Lane and revving engines. The team stopped and spoke to several drivers and ensured that we prevented any further escalations or cause for service, as we have seen in previous years, with the school leavers events whereby there have been racers, driving at speed, people sitting on vehicles and igniting flares.
Mickleover community catch up: Following this the team split up to continue with their daily tasks and enquiries into incidents. PCSO Hartley and PCSO Supervisor Coleman met with the community at Mickleover Library to conduct some surveys on issues in residents areas, as well as make enquiries into an abandoned vehicle nearby. A foot patrol around Mickleover to meet some regular faces and to reiterate how hot we were to every inquisitive passer by.
E-Scooter Seizure: PCSO's Darcy-Cox and Murphy conducted some high visibility patrols at school kicking out time, at the request of local schools, and located an E-scooter which was promptly seized. We have put out a fair amount of posts around the legality of E-scooters and it remains the same; they are illegal to use on public roads and will be seized if seen ridden.
Our Mickleover Summer Fair:
The team then met up to visit the opening of the Our Mickleover Summer Fair on Vicarage Park, and a chat with the Mickleover Local Councillors. This looks to be a fantastic event for all and is on across the weekend, it is clear a lot of time and care has been put into organising it for the community. We desperately resisted the urge to try the dodgems.
